Part of the international Prayers and Squares interfaith outreach organization, Trinity’s Prayers and Squares combines the gift of a quilt with prayer for those in need. Each quilt is constructed by team members and is then brought forward during a church service for a special blessing and prayer for the recipient. As they leave the church, worshippers add their personal prayers as they tie the ties that bind the quilt. It’s truly a ministry in which all parishioners can participate.
Trinity’s quilting ministry does much more than make prayer quilts. They also make dolls and bedding for the wooden cradles made by Trinity Toymakers. They also make baby blankets for mothers in need. And, they have even made vestments!
Prayers and Squares would love to have you join them. You do not have to be a quilter as a variety of talents is needed.
When Do They Meet?
Prayers and Squares meets the first Saturday and the third Thursday of each month at 9:30 am in the parish hall. Interested? Just show up at a meeting or email Dru Cowles for more information.
Request a Prayer Quilt
Any worshipper may request a prayer quilt for a loved one, and, of course, there is never a charge. Prior to making your request, we do ask that you get the recipient’s permission. There are times, for private reasons, a person might not wish to receive a prayer quilt.
